Saturday

I forgot to call my mom last night (I try to call once a week)...

My tent (er...dress) didn't arrive from Sears as it was supposed to...

I have to go to work today...

Can't paint until tomorrow...

Liquin is expensive...

Out of sorts and getting crankier and more cantankerous by the day...

Exaggerated the size of the Van Gogh biography book; it is more like 2" thick.  I'm in the 300's page numbers and not even half way through it.  At first I found Van Gogh super sympathetic and as I've moved on through the book, he is becoming less and less so.  Unfortunately, I also see parallels between us.

Still don't know what to wear to the concert tomorrow.  I shouldn't have bought the tickets because I now don't really want to go.  Is an orchestra still called a concert?

Weaving hasn't progressed at all.  I'm about to cut it off the loom and put the loom up for sale.  First time ever I've had crooked lines and I don't know why.  I use the beater bar to make sure the weave is super tight and it looks straight when the bar is pulled forward but wonky when it is back by the shafts.  Sigh...Waste of a lot of work to cut it off now though.  Don't know what I'll do yet.

I guess I should get dressed and get to work.  The sooner I start, the sooner I'll be done.

Hi Sherri, I love your new look!
Lots of reading for me this morning on your blog :)
Your new harp is such a splendid work of art, must be a real treat playing on it. Your latest painting is quite promising. I like the sense of drama you are developping. Have a good weekend Sherri and thanks for dropping by. Hugs

I think the Van Gogh biography may be affecting your mood a bit, especially if you are focusing on the parallels. Just go with the flow right now, & don't do anything drastic (like cutting up work or selling your loom). I am learning to adopt the "this too shall pass" approach when things are out of sorts. Given a bit of time, they will right themselves again. Hang in there - hugs.

CL, as I was reading this post I thought about George Inness one of the great American Tonalists. For year I have loved his work and couldn’t wait to read a book about him and his work However, the more I read about him as a man and artist, the more I didn’t care for him as a person, which reflected somehow on how I viewed his work! In fact I’ve given the book away and am not as starry eyed about his work any more!

Bonsoir,

I always love your posts and wonder why you don't write a book!!! Don't give up on your weaving...I imagine it would be very therapeutic...I know
when I do my crocheting it's very calming...

Hope you find something to wear...and enjoy it.

I am in Emporia, VA. How's that for a name. It will be about 5 more hours driving tomorrow to get to Myrtle Beach. Yeah! I should have an internet connection so I can log on there too.

Don't work too hard.

I just have to think you'll love the concert...even though your having to drag yourself there. I can't tell you how many times that happens to me. I don't know how you have the patience for the loom thing--that amazes me. Maybe you will feel better about it tomorrow. Like my Mom used to always say: "sleep on it!" (things may look different tomorrow) :)

Hi Sherry - I've been away, ill, but am fine now and will try to get my show back on the road ASAP!

Stay away from the end-of-winter-blues!

I hope that you went to the concert, and that the beautiful music transported you to an incredibly soothing and restorative place.

Dear Sherry - just catching up on my blogs and emails...sorry - how was the concert? Hope it was good. Sometimes the things we think will not be great turn out to be wonderful. Van Gogh seemed like such a tragic figure and you are certainly not that at all - thanks for sharing your life as always.
